Apply for the PMA Designation
The PMA charter qualification is a governed, multi-stage process. A suitability review is required before formal application. Identity verification, character review, standards training, and formal examination follow before charter issuance.
This is not a casual sign-up. PMA qualification requires sustained commitment and formal review.
A Charter Suitability Review is required before formal application begins.
Identity verification, AML/sanctions screening, and Character Review are mandatory.
A non-refundable application fee of $250 USD is required upon submission.
Path to Charter
Seven rigorous stages separate initial assessment from charter issuance. The Suitability Review must be completed before formal application begins.
Suitability Review
Before formal application begins, all candidates must complete a Charter Suitability Review. This pre-admission gate evaluates baseline eligibility, professional background, and willingness to undergo the governed qualification process. Outcomes include: eligible to proceed, subject to manual review, additional information required, or not currently eligible.
Application & KYC
Submit your professional biography, identity documents, and supporting materials. Your application initiates identity verification and AML/sanctions screening.
Character & Fitness Review
Disclose any prior regulatory actions, litigation, misconduct, or disciplinary history. Clean disclosures may clear automatically. Adverse disclosures require Standards Committee review.
Enrollment
Review and execute the enrollment agreement. Accept the tuition and fee schedule, Code of Professional Conduct, confidentiality obligations, and standards commitments.
Standards Training
Progress through the PMA body of knowledge across five core domains. Domain access is controlled and sequential. Each domain requires a competency verification.
Examination
Sit for a live-proctored, 90-minute comprehensive examination. Government ID verification, room scan, and browser lockdown are required. Minimum passing score: 80%.
Issuance & Oath
Accept the PMA Oath of Market Integrity. Your charter credential is issued, your Credential ID is activated, and your standing is published to the verification registry.
After Issuance: Ongoing Standing
PMA is not a one-time certification. Charterholders are expected to maintain continuing education credits, complete periodic attestations of professional conduct, and remit annual renewal fees. Failure to maintain standing results in charter lapse or expiry.
